Halloween '08

Hayden was Tinkerbell for Halloween. She has 3 Disney
Princess costumes, so it was decided on last minute. We
all went trick-or-treating, Jarrod, her, Vincent (in the
sling), and me. Hayden was GREAT at first. She said
"Trick-or-Treat" and she also made sure to say her
"Please" and "Thank You's." But then, about a half
hour into going around the neighborhood, she basically
just started reaching for candy and leaving. She only
lasted about an hour, but she made out pretty well for
candy

Hayden with "Baby Brother"

Hayden has been great with Vince. She's responded way
better than I ever could have expected. She hasn't been
too jealous or hostile at all. If she doesn't ignore Vincent,
than she's actually quite caring. If he cries, you can hear
her saying, "It's okay, buddy. It's okay. Shh... Bincent
(yes, with a 'B')." She throws away his diapers for me and
she loves to point out his ears, eyes, fingers, and toes. It's
adorable. She's a great big sister

Jarrod captured these shots of Hayden "holding" Vince
for the first time. Oh - and by the way - I forgot to
mention she either calls him "Buddy" or "Baby Brother"

Vincent & Dad

Everyone asks who Vincent looks like and, honestly, he
looks JUST like Jarrod's baby pictures. They have the
same shaped face, the same lips, and the same
expressions. It's looking like Vincent's eyes are going to
be leaning towards brown instead of blue too. I'm never
going to have a kid that looks like me, I guess. Oh well.
I have a cute husband, so I got a cute baby. I'm okay
with that.

Vincent - One Day Old

He was a little jaundiced for a little while - which is why
he's orange looking

Vincent's Birthday

I went into labor around 6.30am on a Sunday morning, at 37 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Here are some (tasteful) pictures

Jarrod, a few hours before Vincent was born

I had an oxygen mask because Vincent's heart rate
kept jumping from the 180s down to the 100s (ends up
the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck AND
torso) but we were both fine.

There he is! Vincent Henry Thomas Ehard was born on
October 26th, 2008 at 7.07pm (me and Jarrod were
married on 07/08 - so it's kind of cool how those numbers
were close). He weighed in at 8lbs. 2oz. and was 20 1/2
inches long - pretty big for being born just before 38
weeks

He was screaming his head off the whole time. He
was even louder than Hayden when she was born

Proud Papa. Jarrod was such an active part of the
entire labor and birth. I'm a lucky wife

And a proud, new Grandma

First feeding. He acted like an old pro

Zoo Days

We went to the Phoenix Zoo to
entertain Hayden and because I
wanted to walk myself into labor
No more pictures! (See her shirt? Very fitting)

This is the last good picture of me pregnant. I
was 37 1/2 weeks (the picture was taken 2 days
before I had Vincent)

The "they made me get off the carousel"
meltdown

She would have jumped in if we had let her

Yes, those tortoises are doing what you think they are.
It was the most hilarious part of the trip.

Adventures in Potty-Training

She almost looks like a little
boy with her Spider-Man PJs
and Hulk tattoo...

My view when looking down at 37 weeks pregnant (I
gave birth 5 days after this picture was taken)
